First Illinois Bank was originally chartered in 1865 as Illinois Bank. In 1905, the bank was re-chartered as First National Bank in East St. Louis. In 1934, the bank was reorganized as First National Bank at East St. Louis. Then, in 1978, the bank became First Illinois Bank.
